Cascara is the dried outer skin of coffee cherries. Because of that is difficult to find in the US. Since we are brewing the skin of the cherry, you have to know and trust the farm it comes from (organic, with no pesticides, etc).
Our Direct Traded Cascara is from our friends in Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza, Brazil. Their slow drying process preserves the sugars on the skins for a more complex flavor.
The amazing tea is very simple to make it! We recommend a ratio of 1:25 , so for 1 cup of water (226g) you can use 2 tbsp of Cascara (9g). This ratio can be used for hot or cold infusions to make a naturally sweet energizing drink that’s high in antioxidants and also eco-friendly – coffee cherries are normally discarded as waste after the pulping process.
